| - I bought a wagjag deal (couples 60 minute massage + 30 minute body scrub) based on another positive yelp and today was the day hubby & I used it.
Checking their website is a bit of a weird experience. For some reason, when I google modern body massage and click on the link that comes up for www.themodernbody.com it takes me to soul-watch.com. With some digging on the Inglewood site I can end up at the same URL but with the right content www.themoderbody.com and to info about the spa.
I must compliment this spa. We called, were running late, and said if we needed to forfeit the scrub that would be okay since it was our fault. The receptionist said they'd do their best to fulfil the entire offer. She was very pleasant. Wonderful.
We arrived about 10 minutes late - and I don't recommend doing this because if they are heavily booked they may not be able to make it work - and everything was calm and peaceful. Not a hint of being rushed.
The couples massage was different than we've had before. We were in separate rooms connected by a door that was left open. A little odd, and when hubby & I wanted to chat we had to talk quite loudly.
The Hot Stone relaxation massages were wonderful. Both of our therapists explained clearly what was coming next, frequently checked to make sure the stones were good temperatures and the pressure was good. I'm not a huge fan of strictly relaxation massages, but this was good - I have to admit.
I've never had a whole body salt scrub before. It was a unique experience - certainly not a bad experience - just something that I'd never undergone before. I liked that I was asked what essential oils I wanted in the scrub. Again the whole process was outlined so there were absolutely no surprises.
I would love to try this place for a therapeutic massage. I can only imagine that, with such excellent customer service, and such great relaxation massages, their therapeutic massages are probably just as good.
Their regular prices are right in line, if not a little lower, than other non-chain spas. They are clearly working hard to carve their own spot in the massage market here in Calgary, and doing a darn fine job!
The parking is on street, and in this part of Inglewood at this time the parking is free with a 2-hour limit.
