| - Had a great experience here! William was the first to assist me with the frazzled hard drive on my MacBook. A young woman with locks--whose name I didn't get--helped process the repair and Timothy called to let me know when it was complete. They did what they could to save my data (back it up, people, back it up) and advised me as to whether I should go big (1 terabyte) or average (500 GB), based on the usage detected on my previous drive.
The diagnostic and data-retrieval attempt took one business day; the actual replacement and software reinstall took about 90 minutes. My computer is my baby and I never had a doubt that it was in good hands. I felt UBIF's prices were fair and I had no problem paying them. Now, I did attempt a Genius Bar visit after my initial diagnostic at UBIF (because, due diligence). Even the rep I spoke to when making the appointment validated the fact that smaller businesses often do a great job with diagnosis and repair. My gut said UBIF was solid but, due diligence. I kept my Genius Bar appointment and, after waiting 40 minutes in a loud, overcrowded Apple store to NOT see someone, I drove back to UBIF (trust your intuition, I always say) and handed over my baby.
In addition to having an inviting space and knowledgeable staff, UBIF was also playing some fun movies on a mounted flat screen: classic Disney Robin Hood, and How to Train Your Dragon.
Hopefully I won't have to return anytime soon, but I will be glad to have these folks working on my electronics, if I do. Cheers!
