| - This is our second stay at a Holiday Inn Express in 2 days. Unfortunately, this location wasn't as nice as the other one we stayed at last night.
First off, the gentleman at the front desk was friendly BUT did not seem very professional. Everything he said was joking or sarcastic. I'm all for having a good time and interacting with your guests but when EVERYTHING you say is an attempt at being funny, it's super annoying. After a long drive with a baby who had been melting down for the last hour or two, we just wanted to get into our room... Not fake-laugh at your jokes.
The place didn't seem very clean. For instance, the grout in the bathroom was dark and stained, the shower curtain was dirty where you grab it to open it, there was hair on the bathroom floor, the room smelled musty (and kinda made my stomach upset. Ok, not kind of, it really made me nauseous), the wallpaper/wall in the hall near our room was in disrepair...
The room set up was a little strange with the vanity outside of the bathroom and the desk/chair in the small path to get to the beds... Which brings me to the fact that they have double beds instead of queen beds. I felt like I am sleeping on a dorm-room bed. The room was definitely big enough for queens but had so much empty space with the smaller beds.
Well, I do have some positives to say too. There's the FREE hot breakfast again which included: biscuits and gravy, cinnamon buns, eggs, turkey sausage, cereal, pancakes, fresh fruit. I DID notice that they have you whole cinnamon buns (opposed to cutting them in half and the size of the biscuits were BIGGER than those at the Webster, NY location.
The small bed WAS still pretty comfortable.
I like the toiletries. They have Bath &Body Works brand. LOVE name brand stuff instead of that generic "shampoo" and "lotion"
Mini fridge and microwave in the room.
Wish this place was a little nicer but it was relatively "cheaper" at $118. I'm sure it's a lot better than some of the places we could have stayed.
