| - Having grown up 45 minutes from Cedar Point, I was not expecting much from this much smaller park. I was wrong to have such low expectations. This park delivers!
The layout: The layout of the park makes it very easy to get from one end to the other. It is small enough that you can visit every ride in one day but large enough to get in your daily step goals.
The rides: In my humble opinion, the Intimidator is the best ride in the entire park. It is a smooth ride with a huge drop and plenty of no gravity hills. The Fury is good as well, but be prepared to feel a bit jostled after a ride. The hidden gem is the Carolina Goldrusher. Don't be fooled by the amount of kids in line, this coaster offers just the right amount of easy thrill.
The food: Do yourself a favor and buy the meal pass. If you buy the daily one, you get a meal every 90 minutes. Don't fool yourself into thinking you will make it all day on the eggs you had for breakfast. All that walking and riding is going to make you hungry. If you are with someone who doesn't mind splitting a meal every 90 minutes, share the cost of the plan. Also, buy the drink cup. That means you can get soda, juice, or water all day long. It's in NC and SC. It gets hot. Be smart; stay hydrated.
Carolina Harbor: If you can't get there early in the day, don't bother. The lines are long and the pavement is hot. (I know the pavement can't be helped but yeeesh!)
Overall, I would highly recommend Carowinds for a day of fun. We have the Gold Pass this year and I am thoroughly enjoying it!
