| - Never before been disrespected by a dealership like today at Findlay Acura. We pulled into the lot sometime around 9:45 a.m. to check out a particular "almost new" car. (BTW, this is several days after providing my info to them online and never hearing back.) We test drove it, liked it and had our trade evaluated. Indicating we had to leave by 10:30 for an 11:00 appointment, we finally got the figures about 10:35. Since we were not in total agreement with the offer, the salesperson said they could work up some better figures if we had more time. We had to keep our appointment, but said if they could get back to us with the better offer, we could definitely come back. He agreed, so off we went at 10:40 to our appointment. Over FOUR HOURS LATER (after 3 PM) we finally received their better offer. We replied that we'd be right over, and within TEN minutes we walked into the showroom. Upon our arrival we were told sorry, we just shook hands with that guy over there and it's sold now. Why wouldn't normal protocol be to advise a second interested party that a customer is already negotiating on the same vehicle?? Or, just tell us that this is the best we can do and there's someone else who is interested so we'd like to move on to them if this doesn't work for you?! I understand mistakes happen, but - here's a thought - why not tell the second party (since we're all standing there in the showroom) that we've been negotiating with this other customer since this morning and we just gave them figures to decide if they want to purchase or not. If they don't take it, it's yours. I've been told that before, and I certainly understood. WE WAITED OVER FOUR HOURS for them to get back to us with their offer while they were simultaneously selling the car to another customer! I get that it's all about the dollar, but really, there are more respectful ways to do it.
