| - We've been a couple times now and there's some definite pluses and minuses to this bakery.
Pros: Great location with a huge variety of baked goods, especially cheesecakes and harder to find Italian baked good options. The service is very prompt and friendly. Their hours are longer than nearby bakeries, making it great to snag a late night nibble or coffee to go.
Cons: There really is no place, either inside or outside, to sit and enjoy your food. Since their business seems to be oriented to couples and families walking around the neighborhood for the most part, it's odd that there aren't benches or picnic tables at least to sit and eat. The quality of some of the items does not seem to be as consistent as Sunflour a few blocks away. For example, the cream/custard filling of certain items looks almost pudding-like and the cinnamon rolls sit open air, making them look dried out.
The other issue is pricing. I'm sure since they are new to the neighborhood, this may hash itself out, but as of now, they are significantly ($1-2 per item) more than nearby bakeries (again, Sunflour, and Nova's). $4 for a muffin or chocolate chip cookie is hard to swallow (though the baked good not so much :-).
Look forward to popping in every once in a while to see what's new, but will probably wait and see before making it the go-to bakery in the 'hood.
