I went to Saddle Up Saloon during their soft opening weekend. I am a big fan of Coyote Joe's so I figured this place would be very similar but much nicer and obviously in a much better location. I really love the concept but this place felt very....corporate.
Just to give you an idea of what to expect: The venue is brand new so the dance floor is shiny and everything is super clean. The bathrooms are spotless and there are several bars to order from, which makes roaming around in this big, open space that much easier. One of my favorite things about this place is the Jack Daniel's chandelier over the dance floor; it's huge and worth checking out. They played a lot of country line dancing music (and, boy, were there line dancers!) but also incorporated some top 40 hits as well. Me and a girlfriend even danced to The Wobble (which is my fave!). I do believe they try to stray away from playing hip hop and rap here. Another nice touch: the muscly bouncers who wear bright yellow STAFF shirts also don cowboy hats and say "ma'am" whenever you speak to them. (That's where the corporate feel comes in; these boys are trained!)
Overall, I dig the place. I went on a very strange weekend when hardly no one was there and they were working out the kinks so I'm sure I'll go back sometime soon hoping that they are a little busier than they were on my first visit.
