| - So, I am partial to Bruster's. I grew up with the one in Bridgewater/Beaver, PA. Large servings, friendly service, abundance of homemade flavors. I stopped in on a hot Friday afternoon with my toddler after receiving an email alert advertising banana cream pie and peach melba. Neither were on the menu. I got one scoop of two different flavors, one being a kid's cup. I was quite surprised by how little ice cream I got in a regular scoop--it was the same size as my child's. Perhaps the started cutting back on their portion sizes, but certainly not the cost. For both, it was $5+. The parking lot is a pain to get in and out of onto Library Road, and the seating was sticky and in need of a good hosing down. In addition, there were two people in front of me being waited on, and I could hear (and see) three workers inside talking but none came to a window to see if I needed to order after making eye contact as I held my squirming toddler. With a Rita's and DQ down the road (Rita's has free kid's treat on Fridays), I think I'll keep my other options open.
