I lovED Hulas. I still love their drinks minus the Bloody Mary. But going here was annoying yesterday.
My friend and I wanted a nice late lunch and a couple of drinks. We couldn't figure anything out so we made a couple of stops. First stop was St. Francis, but the wait was 40 mins. We opted to pass because we were hungry. So I suggested Hula's...because you can never go wrong with Hula's!
We walked in and were immediately greeted by a pretty hostess who took seated us. They brought out the bunch menu. I asked for the gluten free menu. Their brunch menu ends at 2:30; well the breakfast options do. The rest of menu is very limited. Waiter came and took our drink order. The Bloody Mary wasn't good. I drank less than half of it. When the waiter came back to get our order, everything we wanted, wasn't available at that time because they were transitioning from their brunch menu to regular menu. What was the point in giving me a gluten free menu if I couldn't even get anything on it for another hour? That was irritating. And why not offer the entire menu all day like most places? Not everyone wants brunch. Anyway, We asked the server for the bill with our drinks and decided to eat elsewhere. Before bringing our check, the waiter brought us a complimentary seaweed salad which was very nice of him.
3 stars for service; but I know your food is good too. I'll update my review when Hulas deserves it.
