| - I bought a $1800 Maltese puppy from here on 12/17/11. Even though we were only going to look at puppies that day, I felt pressure from the saleslady Heidi to buy the puppy before Christmas. I had fallen in love with the white, fluffy puppy, so I went ahead and bought him. The following Monday morning, the puppy seemed really lethargic. Then, he passed away on Christmas Eve after $800 worth of emergency vet bills.
Now, I am running into a lot of problems trying to get reimbursed for those bills from PAWS, the supplemental insurance I paid for. They keep asking for more paper work and documentation. I am also still being debited a monthly fee from the financing company, despite the fact that Puppies 'N Love assured me I would not be charged. I am hoping these financial matters will be resolved soon and that I can be reimbursed fully.
It's been a lot of unnecessary heartache and headache dealing with the loss of my puppy. I should never have bought from a pet store. I believe he was from a puppy mill and died from a congenital issue.
I now have a new Maltese puppy from a wonderful Maltese breeder in Glendale, AZ, called China Doll Maltese. The puppies there are cheaper, healthier, and well-taken-care-of. I even got to meet both the mom and dad of my new puppy.
My new puppy is the only silver lining in my sad experience with Puppies 'N Love.
