| - My husband and I were going back and forth on where to get married in Vegas. We knew we didn't want a church wedding or a chapel wedding on the strip...so we were left with options that seemed to be very expensive, we were ballin' on a budget! We found Lakeside Weddings online. We are former Vegas residents, but have since moved to California. We took turns checking the place out and decided we loved it!
It is my understanding that this venue has had some drastic changes the past couple of years. My husband met with Wynndy Johnson. She gave him the tour and the run down. Once my husband approved, I was able to get the ball rolling. I went out to Vegas later and met up with Wynndy and loved her instantly. Her and I could talk like we've been friends for years. She's very welcoming, warm and professional. From the time we booked the venue all the way up until our wedding day (May of 2013), she was always there and on top of things.
The actual wedding day...I had a few small fiascos that I created for myself. Wynndy, being so poised, calm, collected and professional, brought me back from my small melt down and everything went off without a hitch! I had lost the directions to the reception that we were going to have passed out at the end of the ceremony, she had directions printed for us and had them passed out.
So here we are a year later...call me procrastinator....and I wanted to order my wedding pictures. it was explained to me that they no longer have an in-house photography department. This was the reason why link to view my pictures was no longer active. I contacted Wynndy, who got me in touch with Karolynn - the new director. We had booked the venue so long ago, that our photo package was no longer something they offer. However, they were going to acknowlege our original packages. Since we only had our ceremony there, we only had about 150 photos....maybe less. But we wanted only 50 photos because that's what we budgeted for. Karolynn reactivated our link and sent me a credit card form to fill out. I had let her know which photos I wanted and sent her the form back. A few days went by and I hadn't heard from Karolynn, so I emailed her to confirm she received my order. When she returned my email, she was apologetic for not getting back to me sooner...that she had something going on with her family. She had wanted to get my photos to me sooner, so for my inconvenience, she gave me all the photos. WHAT?! How classy of this person, whom I've never met. SHE had a family issue and is giving ME all my photos? Bless her heart!
Clearly, there were some previous issues with Lakeside Weddings because some of these reviews are less than stellar. However, I think they are doing whatever it takes to make this place amazing. I can only hope every couple has an experience as my husband and I did.
The cost is very affordable. The view is spectacular. The staff (that I was fortunate to deal with) is amazing. I couldn't be happier.
I saw someone posted about location. It kind of threw me off the first time I went there. Yes, it is not dedicated to only weddings, but they are very professional in keeping everything to its own event. In the same parking lot there is a pub - score for the groom and groomsmen waiting for the tardy bride (me) - not to mention everything is well kept. My wedding guests were impressed with the location and the how beautiful it is.
My only enigma - we got married in the Heritage Garden....how has no one fallen? It's a little on the steep side going down the aisle...glad I had my Dad to hang on to :)
If you are not sure about this place - please go in person. Check out the venue, meet the people....you'll be sold in a heartbeat!
