Ah... The Canon... it was here where I went to see my very first performance that I actually picked: The Phantom Of The Opera. Oh, which horrible seats we had, although in fairness, it was a school trip and we were thrown into the back of the 2nd balcony. I still remember, some of us would rent and then use one set of binoculars in front of another set just so we could try tell the expressions on the actors. Mmm... it kind of worked actually but that is not the right way to see a musical.
I have seen a number of performances here, mostly on row M. Since if you get centered seats, you will find them well placed with great acoustics and a great level of view.
As expected when you are paying a premium for entertainment, the staff of the locale try to be both friendly and courteous. Washroom can be a bit tight since they are quite small for the house as in, there aren't enough.
I have always liked the view just to the left of the grand staircase specially during intermission as you see the audience mingle.
The materials look and feel top notch and I am proud we have this great house in Toronto. Not sure if I am feeling the Ed Mirvish name change but then again, it is just a name. Since personally I rather liked: The Pantages Theatre.
Definitely worth the visits as a venue.
