| - I would divide my review into Talent - 5 stars and Ambiance- 1star.
The show is held at a kind of crummy timeshare place behind Encore. I walked in and asked where the showroom was, and I was pointed towards a curtained-off area behind their lobby bar. The area held about 60 chairs that looked like they were dragged over from the coffee shop. It was like going to a show in someone's basement. The stage curtain even looked like a bedspread. The guy who gave me my ticket also doubled as the opening act. He was a Red Skelton impersonator. I suppose he was okay. I was never a huge Red Skelton fan, and his jokes were extremely corny. The two 70-something ladies who sat next to me thought he was fabulous.
Larry is a very talented guy. I've never seen Danny Gans, so I can't compare the two, but I was very impressed by many of his impersonations, especially the ones involving duets and groups. He performed as both Natalie and Nat King Cole, Michael McDonald and Patti LaBelle, the entire Rat Pack, and all four Temptations. He also did a "Trip down the Strip", where he impersonated many of the other acts in Vegas, including Cher and Prince (and saving us over $1800 in show tickets, he jokingly points out).
If he asked for honest feedback, here's what I'd say:
1. Find a better venue. This place is incredibly tacky.
2. When no audience member is no more than 30 feet away from you, make sure your clothes are clean. I saw a few stains on his suit, and it was completely distracting.
3. Dude, the platinum-on-top, black underneath hair color is not working for you. See a good colorist.
I saw this show for free through ShowTickets4Locals.com, so I got more than my money's worth.
