I am STILL whole-heartedly happy to bank here. But I really expect everything here to be better than one of the big three. So when I went in to the Cottonwood branch to hopefully convert and deposit some Aussie dollars left over from my vacation I was disappointed to be told "No, we don't accept Australian Dollars".
I sadly recalled my days of banking with Chase when they gladly accepted my leftover British Pounds and on another occasion, Singapore Dollars without a problem.
I'm letting this one slide because there are still a multitude of reasons to go with a credit union or local bank over one of the large corporate banks. That being said, these guys have to offer the same products with better service to compel more people to make the switch. Offering foreign exchange on at least the major currencies (Euro, British Pounds, Australian, Hong Kong and Singapore Dollars, Swiss Francs, Japanese Yen and Chinese Yuan) would make these guys more competitive.
Maybe I'm expecting too much but if I had my way, we'd all be banking locally. But until these guys can offer what the big guys are, I don't see that happening.
