  • I just returned to the states from a lovely visit to Montreal where I was able to attend many of the classes offered here at the Milan Pole Dance Studio, Montreal. I have been doing pole fitness for quite some time and have attended classes at many studios. This one was definitely my favorite. Studio space: The layout and look of the studio was amazing. As you walk in, you are greeted by friendly reception who checks you in to class and shows you the changing area. Immediately you notice how clean the entire studio looks. Very nice. The studio itself is mostly mirrors, which dancers love, and has fun florescent colored lighting around the edge of the ceiling. It really gives the entire place a sultry feeling without reminding you of stepping into a club. The poles are brass and mostly 38cm with a couple 45s. For new polers, brass is the sticky of the sticky when it comes to poles so its easy to hang onto. The 38cm diameter poles, and even the 45s, are small enough to grip with my small girl hands. Another plus when it comes to hanging on. Instruction: The main instructor, Prana, is a very well known pole competitor, performer, and artist known for her strength and flexibility. You will definitely work both areas in any given class. Finding instruction from renowned pole stars can often be difficult so, if you live in the area or are visiting, I STRONGLY suggest attending classes here. She breaks down every move by explaining what muscles to engage, when to breathe, and how to place your body to achieve each move while avoiding injury. Not to mention, she is always extremely positive and an excellent motivator, pushing you to reach your highest level and then some. You will absolutely have that "I worked out hard"-sore feeling after any class, whether it be exotic dance, flexibility, or pole. If I could give this studio more stars I would. Even in the 10 days I visited Montreal, I felt myself become stronger and more flexible from my classes at MPDS. The entire staff was friendly and upbeat. Everyone was having a good time. I cant wait for a return visit so I can pole here again!!!
