My husband and I decided to go by Spudnuts on a lark this morning, and we are very glad we did. Neither of us had any idea that such tasty treats could be made out of potato flour!
We tried the apricot and the cookies-and-cream ones and we will most definitely be back to try others. The doughnuts were light and tasty without the sickly sweet, cloying taste we've found at most doughnut shops. They were also very reasonably priced, at $1 each, where most shops I've been to would charge significantly more for filled options.
My only criticism is the same one I often have for cream-filled, chocolate covered doughnuts: they are sweet enough without the chocolate and I would gladly buy them more often if there was a non-chocolate-covered option, but that is a pretty standard thing about doughnut options and is not anything against Spudnuts!
The girls at the counter were cordial and professional as well, and took a few extra minutes to talk some of their customers through their options, which was nice to see. At the same time there was enough of them so that despite the line, we got our doughnuts and paid quite quickly.
