Wish we never went.
We are from out of state. Purchased tickets that combined butterfly exhibit and aquarium. Pretty pricey.
We are super easygoing people. Not confrontational; reasonable.
I'm pregnant and after we did the butterfly exhibit but before entering the aquarium my blood sugar (which i monitor) dropped and I felt too ill to go on.
I asked for a refund of the aquarium portion as we couldn't use the tickets; two employees mentioned there is a no refund policy but were compassionate and said they would call the manager to approve or process the refund. Seemed like it wouldn't be a problem. Then out came the manager, wearing a name tag that said Dee. Dee had a big smile but said she wouldn't do the refund. She said the tickets were good for a year. I explained we are from out of state and likely wouldn't be returning in a year. Her answer was still no. I asked if an exception could be made but she held strong.
It made me feel pretty sucky to know I was supporting a business that had no compassion for how ill I felt. I walked out of there feeling pretty icky actually about it. It's not like we wanted a refund AFTER using the tickets. We wanted a refund before. Why is that not something that an exception can be made for? Just didn't understand it.
