This review is not for their ayce...
Came here after watching Zarkana hungry for some Korean comfort food. We ordered a bunch of stuff including all their special bbq plates of bulgogi, short rib, shrimp and scallops and spicy chicken. They came with a small soon dobu and we got the kitchen beef and mushroom flavor.
5 stars: short ribs!! The galbi was very flavorful and tender. Not heat at all like some places can be. The texture was so soft and delicious. We got two orders of it.
Besides the short ribs... All the other stuff was just mediocre. I use to live in Ktown in la and was really disappointed in the tofu soup. The color is way off... It's a watery light pink color. The consistency was too watery.. And the flavor just wasn't there. I think mr tofu across the street serves wayyyy better tofu soup. The spicy chicken and the shrimp and scallops were good but nothing special. The bulgogi was decent as well too.
As for their side dishes..they served really good kimchi! Not too fermented and crunchy just the way I like it. They also had seaweed, japchea, bean sprouts and Korean pancake. Usually Korean pancake is my favorite thing but this one was extremely thick and doughy with little flavor. It was also soggy.
I think for meats.. The galbi is unbeatable. For for tofu soup I'm gonna visit somewhere else.
