| - I had the worst experience ever at this store! I have trusted Midas with my vehicles for several years as they have always provided excellent service at a great price, and usually go the extra mile to retain repeat customers. This was my first time at this location and I will never return. The Manager Mike helped me and what was supposed to be a $22 oil change somehow ended up being $70! Mike claimed that the vehicle I brought in would only take a full synthetic oil. I asked if he was sure, he said yes, I asked about the possibility of a synthetic blend, he said it had to be full. This is a company car and because I don't know much about it I took his advice. A few things irked me enough to do my home work. First, when I made my appointment 2 days before I asked if I should be done within an hour as I would be doing this on my lunch break, I was told yes, I would be out within an hour. When I checked in there was no one else there. I asked again would I be out of there within an hour. Again, I was told yes. I was NOT out of there within an hour, but more like an hour and 15 minutes. An oil change does not take that long! Second, the tech did not use a floor mat, gloves or seat cover in this brand new 2016 vehicle. He left it a mess. Even the door handles had large amounts of what appeared to be axel grease all over them. Third, when I complained about the high amount of the bill, Mike said here is a $50 mail in rebate. I read further and found that it isn't a $50 mail in rebate but a $50 promotional credit for some company that I have never heard of. I asked if he could explain further and he told me that Its was a gift card to a restaurant. He said he and his wife had used one and had a wonderful time. I asked which restaurant and he couldn't tell me. He couldn't give me any info on the rebate other than I needed to include a copy of my invoice. All of this made me call and check 3 other Midas locations and the dealership from where the vehicle was purchased. Every single person I spoke with informed me that the vehicle called for standard conventional motor oil! I was pissed! I called Mike to ask why he lied to me. He said that the last 10 vehicles like this one that had come to his store requested full synthetic so that's what he gave me. I informed him that I had worked in a service center before and that is not how you determine what oil to use. You either go by the manufacturers rec. or the customers preference. He got an attitude and very rudely asked "so what do you want to do? Do you want to come back so I can drain the oil and put in the conventional stuff?" I told him I wanted a refund. He said he would give me a free oil change and tire rotation. I said absolutely not, I will not be having my vehicles serviced there anymore. He said if I came and let him switch the oil he would refund the difference. I got off the phone and called corporate. I was supposed to here back from them today. I recorded the conversation of him admitting he lied to me. If I don't hear back from them today I am going to the local news paper and abc 15. This is ridiculous!
