| - I am not sure how this place has received a four star rating. Maybe they are good groomers? I have had my dogs boarded here twice & feel it's necessary to share my experience. I was initially referred to this place through a friend that had used them before to board her dog. All she said was that they were inexpensive.Well the saying you get what you pay for holds water here (see pics).
1st/2nd experience, I can honestly say, was fine. I rescued a dog from Lied and was going out of town. He is a pitbull mix. I had boarded him up the road in seven hills before, but in an effort to save a few dollars, I decided to board him at Pet Spa. I dropped him off. There was only one brief paper to fill out, no shot record was required, and upon dropping him off there was no tour of the facility. I thought it was odd, but trusted my friends referral. I would call and check on him while I was away, and picked him up with no problems. They charged me $20 a day for him (they said small dogs 15, medium 20.. and Im not sure what they charge for larger dogs), and upon checking out they require you to pay for a grooming which is roughly about $30.. Okay, fine. No big deal. I picked him up. Everyone was nice. Said he was a great dog. No issues. Great considering he was a rescue, you never know how they do in certain situations.Upon having a good experience that first time, I opted to use them again. 2 I called them for Brody, my rescue dog, and they said he wasnt allowed to come back because he showed signs of hostility while he was there. I was shocked. I asked why I wasn't made aware of this when I picked him up. They had no response. They told me that notes in the computer said I was told, however, I never was. Although I was upset with the way they handled Brody, I let it go.
Third experience: Our good friend was watching one of our English Bulldogs while we were out of town. However, while we were away, he had an emergency to attend to and he, himself, had to leave town. I told him to go to Pet Spa. Primarily because all her shot records were at home (my husband administers our dogs shots himself), our friend had no access to our house, and I knew Pet Spa did not require them. Maybe I was wrong in not giving him the copy of her shots. It was a mistake on my end. But he dropped her off there, and I picked her up a few days later. I called them around 330, right after picking my kids up from school, to let them know I would be picking her up. The lady on the phone was so rude. I could not believe it. She said I had to be there before 4pm because she was leaving early. I told her the website/internet said they closed at 5 (not to mention Yelp has them closing at 7). She said if I wasnt there by 4, I would have to get her the following day, and pay for the additional day. I did not agree with that. The woman on the phone was very angry. She did not like being questioned. In addition to that, I had asked about the total bill. She told me the total and I asked her why I was being charged the same price as my rescue dog, Brody, who is more than twice her size, She said if I didnt like it, to talk to the owner. I said okay, and gave her my number. The owner called me a few min later and apologized for her employees behavior. The owner was very calm and professional. She explained to me that at the time Snookie was dropped off, the only kennel size available was the larger size. I had no problem with that at all. I simply needed to know why I was being charged the same rate. Upon explanation and her apologies, I felt much better. She said the woman working was sick and had to leave early. Okay, I picked up Snookie.
4th and FINAL experience:Because the owner was apologetic and sincere in her call, I called them again when going out of town this past weekend. It was a last minute thing, so I called to see it they had any kennels available. The same woman got on the phone. I told her this time it would be for both my Bulldogs. She quoted me at $40 a day for both of them together in the same kennel, plus the grooming for both. I asked if they were in the same kennel together, why I am being charged the full amount. She immediately gave me an attitude. She was so incredibly rude, All i needed was an valid explanation, and everything would have been fine. I told her I would call her back. Upon talking to my husband, we decided to board just our little bulldog, Snookie, and have our friend watch our other two dogs. I called back and got the same woman on the phone. Great. She said, again, I had to bring her there by 4pm because she was leaving at 4. Now this got me upset, and this is how I knew it was the same woman from the other instance. I told her that the same thing happened before with her leaving at 4pm. She immediately gave me an attitude, yelling over the phone. I asked to speak with the owner and she said she was the owner (lie). She then hung up on me I called back and was hung up on again and again. Not worth your busine
