We were upgraded to a corner suite on the second floor, as Mr Beffrey is a Hilton Honors Gold. The room had lots of square footage (pretty much the same size as our current apartment), and felt spacious for a mid-range suite. Small kitchenette area, a living room with desk and TV, bedroom with another TV, one bathroom with a tub, and a second huge bathroom that is designed for folks in wheelchairs. Room was clean, bed decently comfy, the bathrooms looked like they had been updated in the past couple years. The furnishings otherwise felt a little dated (2000s, not 1980s).
We couldn't hear our neighbors at all (a plus!) but being on the second floor on the corner abutting the intersection meant we could hear ALL the traffic, even the buses and their announcements ("61C to...").
The room didn't get cleaned one day (not sure what happened there), and Mr Beffrey mentioned it to the front desk staff. They and the manager went above and beyond in remedying this -- sent cleaning staff up right away, then comped the first night's stay! Five stars to those folks, more than made up for any deficiencies we felt in our experience.
Breakfast was complimentary for us as Honors Gold, otherwise is $13/person. You can order bacon (crispy, but way salty), sausage (slightly overdone), omelettes, or eggs made to order. Standard fruit, yogurt, juices, pastries. Decent, but wouldn't eat here if we had to pay.
Location is super convenient, one street over from UPMC, a few blocks from Magee Women's, a few blocks from UPitt. The hotel shuttle will drop you off anywhere in the city that you need to go to as well.
