  • Ok, time for a rare harsh review. I reallllly wanted to like this salon experience, but I really didn't. The salon itself is edgy and trendy. So was the guy who cut my hair which, unfortunately left me with a 'trendy' cut that doesn't work with my lifestyle at all. I went in wanting bangs and an eyelash tint. Just simple Betty Paige-like bangs, using a small amount of hair. What I got was something 'Fringe Bangs', which is not a straight cut and takes a ton of my hair for the bangs. That's not good for a girl with fine blond hair. Now when I pull the rest back in a pony tail, the pony tail is really thin. :( Also, he went on about how he didn't use a 'structured style'... the result is that my 'fringe' is uneven. On one side, it looks like someone just took a pair of scissors and chopped off a lock of my hair. So now I have fringe that I didn't want, that's uneven, that makes my hair look thin. Great. Other problems... I booked my appt and then a week later, right before the appt time, the stylist called and tried to reschedule with me. That small amount of time made me think he'd taken a walk-in that had a bigger $$ ticket than I was. She was getting highlights, color and a cut. He called with such little notice that my baby sitter was already there. I kept the appointment but it resulted in my haircut taking TWO AND A HALF HOURS... at which point I had to leave without even getting my lashes tinted because it was so late at night. Minor note... he said he'd discount the cut on the phone before I came in but in the end, he didn't. I was so glad to be out of there and be going home to my 5 month old that I didn't bother to mention it. And FINALLY... I immediately and specifically told him that I was a new mom with no time for doing my hair so I wanted something simple. When the cut was done and he was showing me how to fix my bangs, I knew I was in trouble. It took him SIX steps/products to get the ideal look. I've done it twice in more than a month. Who has time for that? Not me. Nowadays, my hair is just pulled back in a hair band. I look longingly at girls with the bangs that I wanted and wish I would have stood-up to my original idea... even though the stylish told me that Betty Paige bangs don't look good on girls with long hair. He double-booked me and worked on another client at the same time calling us 'friends' when another stylist ask him about it), making my haircut take 2.5 hours, he disregarded what I wanted, giving me a cut that requires way too much time and makes the rest of my hair look thin because it took so much hair, he didn't do my last tint, he visited with friends that were in and out to visit him and ultimately, gave me the 3rd worse salon result ever. He obviously thought a lot of his skill... so much that he didn't meet the clients needs. It's like a doctor with really really bad bedside manner. I've bought almost a dozen hair bands so I can keep my 'fringe bangs' pulled back and I can't wait for them to grow out so I can get the bangs that I wanted. It'll be years though... and honestly, I may never make the leap again. $50 hair cut + 3 hours baby sitter + a dozen hair accessories = a really expensive misadventure. I can't believe my 'auto-pilot' tipped him 20%. Absolutely won't see ya there.
