rev:text	We decided to take the tour of Taliesen West after reading online reviews and we were so glad we did. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED we took the first tour of the day, the 9 am "insights tour" that takes you through the property and provides an amazing account of Frank Lloyd Wright's life, loves and philosophy. OUR TOUR WAS MADE ALL THE BETTER BY OUR OUTSTANDING GUIDE, SKLYER WHO DELIVERED ABOUT 3 hours of amazing content in the 90 minute tour (although we ran just a bit long). His knowledge and fluency in the subject was truly amazing and made the visit all the more memorable. TIP: find out what tour Skyler is leading and use that to choose your tour time. HE IS THAT AMAZING. The tour itself winds you through the "camp" taking you through his office, living room, bedroom, "'man cave" and even under ground nightclub. Along the way you will hear dozens of amazing stories about the man, his wife and the guests that came through (like Marilyn Monroe). THIS IS A MUST DO ACTIVITY. Tips: - bring water (it's the dessert) - you are allowed to bring it along with you on the tour. - check in early, the tours leave promptly - remember to TIP your guide if you enjoyed your time - check in location for the tour is in the cool gift shop (it's an underground building) - go down the steps behind the water feature - parking is free - BE SURE TO RESERVE YOUR TOUR AHEAD OF TIME ON THEIR WEBSITE and bring a copy of the confirmation to check in. - taking the first tour of the day - 9 am - meant we got to set the tour pace and didn't have to wait behind any other groups (tours leave every 15 minutes) REVIEW OF DESSERT WALK TOUR follows: NOT RECOMMENDED WE opted to buy the combo ticket -insight tour (90 minutes), followed after a 30 minute break and the dessert walk tour that takes you on a short walk through the dessert fauna. Five minutes in we had regretted the choice - mostly because of the lifeless tour guide. Our former elementary school teacher couldn't have been more opposite of the wonderful SKYLER. She had no stories, didn't really create an atmosphere for questions and thankfully ended 15 minutes early. She pointed out the various cacti but all in all a flat experience.
