  • By far...the worst public transit service in the country. And possibly, the most expensive. If I could give this human dump of public transit a negative rating, I would. I'd then create multiple accounts and log on simply to review this awful waste of rider and taxpayer money until my fingers bled. I do not use the H word very often but I hate the Port Authority. I'm not sure how much text I'm allowed to squeeze into this review so if I run out of space, I apologize. For starters...the price. It's $3.00 a trip! I've lived all over the country and this is by far the highest price I've seen. Its disgusting. And you wanna know why its so high? Because all of these scumbag busdrivers get paid bucketloads of money, are given some of the best benefits in the country, get Cadillac insurance plans and receive insanely high pensions. If it wasn't for these union thugs squeezing every nickel and dime they could out of poor people, the bus could actually be affordable in this city. You also have to pay when you get off. I don't understand how this makes any sense. All it does it make you late for work. This is the dumbest idea ever. The back door, which is the door you're suppose to EXIT from, only works downtown. So you have to wait for every single last person to exit the bus out of the front door, which is the door you're suppose to ENTER from, before you're allowed to get on the bus. I said paying for the bus when you get off was the dumbest idea. No way...this the dumbest idea in the world. Ever. People get on in the front. They leave out the back. This is how it works on every other public transit system in the world. Why doesn't this work in Pittsburgh? Because Yinzers are total morons, that's why. You heard it here first, folks. There's also a bus stop, literally, on every freaking street corner. You mean these lazy black and yellow striped hillbillies can't walk another block to catch a bus? Give me a break. On some streets, there's also up to six or seven bus lines running on them.....like Carson Street. And yet you can't hop on a bus in like Brentwood and take it to Brookline...which is 2 miles away? Who built this transit system? An insane drunken three year old with some magic markers and a Diet Tab? If you want to get anywhere in the area...even two miles away, you have to ride all the way downtown and all the way back out. Its simply the most moronic bus system in the country. Old people ride for free. Yes....for free. Young taxpayers, students and those attending the various colleges and universities have to pay up to $6-$9 a day to get around on the bus....so they can pay taxes and support the country. But the elderly get to ride all day long for free so they can go to Aldi's to pick up a pint of milk and 2 carrots. Or to get their hair done. But an 18 year old kid going to school to better himself, his generation and the country for the next 60 years has to shell out an arm and a leg. Only in freaking Pittsburgh! Their website is awful. There's few maps on it. The interface stinks. And when you call their help line, its even worse. You get some ghetto mental retard who doesn't know anything about Pittsburgh unless its a neighborhood touching their own. The hand pamphlets are almost as bad. They have these bizarre maps that aren't scaled worth a flying foozeball. They're extremely vague, show some major roads but omit others. It seriously looks like a handicapped chimpanzee made the maps. If you want to try and figure out where to go, just use google directions..they're much more accurate and user-friendly. There's nothing nice to say about the PTA. Its the most inefficient, wasteful and awful transit system I've ever experienced. And, without a doubt, the most expensive. Going from Brentwood to Brookline....a 2 mile trip...takes almost an hour and a half and will cost you three bucks. Oh lord, I want to vomit.
