Over the past holiday weekend my husband and I were at the Joya spa for massages. When I made the reservation the woman I spoke with on the phone said it required a credit card. I gave her my card number and asked if I would be able to pay with a different card if I so chose at the end of service. She assured me this was an option and said that wouldn't be a problem at all. After spending the afternoon by the pool my husband and I were ready to go, so we headed downstairs to check out. The gentleman who checked us out asked if you wanted to use the card on file or a different card. My husband went ahead and handed him a different credit card than the one that was on file and said please run this. We checked out, my husband sign the credit card receipt, and we left.
Several hours later we logged into our online banking and realized that our debit card that was used to initially make the reservation had also been charged over $250. That was several days ago. The charges are still there. We called the resort to speak with someone and asked why both cards were charged. After a lengthy round of phone tag and being transferred to several different people. They said they did not show any charges on that card. That was over two days ago and it's still showing on my online statement.
If there is ever an issue where I guess is overcharged it should be the manager's responsibility to ensure that it gets corrected. I don't know how much faith I have in them making it right and I will just have to call my bank to dispute the charges.
The services were great but this has put a nasty taste in my mouth and I likely wouldn't return.
