  • Review on a Drone Repair: I originally chose to send my drone into Drones Plus because of the positive reviews. It seems that everybody has trusted them and had good service so I went this route over sending my drone into DJI for repair. I was quoted 1-week turn around time. They said they were backed up a bit or it would have been sooner. After almost 2 weeks with no contact, I called to check the status of my repair. It took me a few days of calling to get someone to answer the phone. I was able to get in touch with the right person who told me they had not yet started on my drone and that they would contact me the next day with an estimate for the repair. Another week went by with no communication at all. I called in and the person I spoke with couldn't find my drone at all. I was on hold for about 15 minutes and then was told that the repair was done, but the test flight was not yet completed. I was told that he would test fly the drone and send me an invoice to pay for the repairs. The next day I called again because I had not received the invoice. I was told that another small repair was needed and that it would ship out later that day, which was a Friday. The following Wednesday I was able to get a hold of someone after a few days of nobody answering the phone at Drones Plus and get the invoice. I paid the invoice while the tech was on the phone with me. He said the drone would ship out that day. The next day I received my tracking number after having to call in again. The drone shipped on a Thursday and I received it today. Here is my observations as to the quality of the repair: There were a few areas where epoxy needed to be applied. It was applied heavily and there is a mess of epoxy fingerprints and epoxy on the landing gear. The drone needed a new gimbal mount but when it was installed, the rubber mounts were installed upsidedown. They would have noticed this if they did test fly the drone because the prop was hitting it and the landing gear was hitting as well. The landing gear foot was not replaced properly and has a gap by the adhesive which will collect dirt and be hard to clean. I know there is a huge demand for drone repair and that it is hard to scale a business with a huge increase in demand, but it is not that hard to work on things one at a time and keep things organized to some degree. I feared my drone was either lost or had been further damaged during testing. Thankfully it was returned to me and is operational now that I fixed the issue with the gimbal rubber mounts. Overall the cost of the repair was pretty cheap. I would prefer they charge more for their services and have a better turn around time. I will send my drone direct to DJI next time.
