  • SOLO does an AMAZING job of service, quality local seasonal ingredients, and expert execution. We had 2 different pizzas (fabulous), meatballs, burrata, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with fondue cheese (outstanding), rigatoni (the only pasta not house made), flat-iron steak (perfect) and olives (amazingly delicious). The pizza was perfectly cooked, great crispy/chewy crust, flavorful cheese, quality meats, and perfect amount of sauce. The meatballs were a good size, good quality meat, but a touch too much oregano that took over a little too much of the flavor. Also, while the tomato sauce was tasty, it could use a minor tweak, maybe a few tomato chunks? I'm sure this is a matter of preference, the sauce has a good flavor, but maybe too much of a puree consistency. The burrata was delicious but could use a sprinkle of sea salt. While I'm on the subject, since SOLO has such high quality ingredients, ditch the standard salt shaker, and use little bowls of sea salt w/ a tiny spoon. It's a touch we expect from a quality establishment like this. The grilled asparagus with prosciutto is out of this world good. BRAVO! The rigatoni is just ok, but it's their only pasta not house made. It was a little dry and boring, but ok. The flat iron steak was perfectly cut, seasoned, and grilled. It's accompanying arugula salad was fresh and flavorful but I think accidentally salted twice. Nothing else was over salted, but this dish. The marinated olives had fantastic flavor picked up from the fresh herb marinade. The atmosphere is pleasant, but too non-descript. I think this town is starving for more restaurants with atmosphere that has character and charm ala The Parlor and Postino. The use of recycled wood, cool light fixtures, and some whimsical touches would go a long way here. The wait staff was fantastic. One of the owners, John, came by the table. He was nice, passionate, and genuine. They were offering a free app or dessert to Iron Man movie goers. I thought it was a great way to bring in new customers, but they need a board that can also face the East/West direction so people can see this coming off the elevators. Their happy hour is also fantastic. Most everything under $7 and all delicious. I'm glad you are here SOLO!! Keep up the good work!!
