  • Been on a kick on cleaning up my diet and was on the search for alternatives meat products, that not only tasted good but was wallet friendly. I've heard little blips of how yummy Green's items are and found that their Secret BBQ Sammie is one of the best mock chicken sandwiches you could order! Green is conveniently located next to Nami which serves up soy-based ice cream, pastries, desserts and coffee. However, I needed food-food and Green serves up some of that and it is all plant-based! Green also serves alcohol, if you are so interested. I ordered the Secret BBQ Sammie, a side of fries and got their House Made Strawberry Lemonade. Items are a la carte. The space is a bit small but has a patio out front and out back. Big windows to allow bright light in. There's bar seating and tables. The staff was really friendly and informative. The Secret BBQ Sammie has slices of thin mock chicken, slices of bell pepper and carmelized onions in a espresso bbq sauce and vegan mayo. Legit BBQ sauce, it was tangy, sweet, hint of spice and then some. The mock chicken was thin like sheets of tofu, but had a texture similar to chicken but with more bite and chew to it. I really enjoyed it, it's one of those things where you can appreciate it's similar characteristics while still being it's own thing. The bun itself held pretty well to it's filling and did a good job of soaking up all the BBQ sauce. The fries were okay, they didn't seem hot or fresh but are the typical thin cut fries. I ended up taking half of my meal home because it was really filling. The house lemonade was good, I also tried their limeade and found both to be refreshing while not being overly sweet. For price point I'm pretty impressed, this meal with a drink came out to be around $12 which is not bad for a plant-based meal that actually tasted legit! Parking is a bit of a pain here during lunch time and turning into Green or Nami on 7th can be a bit of a hassle during peak times. Despite the traffic, I'm excited to try the other things Green has to offer!
