| - DO NOT GO HERE FOR CHEST X-RAYS.
When I called the office, I asked if they perform Tb chest x-rays at their location, because I need it for nursing school. They said yes and told me that with a student ID, the x ray is $90 because they do not take insurance. I thought that was reasonable and scheduled an appointment.
I came for my appointment and they had me sign in and register as a new patient and after that, they had me pay up front for my x-ray. I didn't mind this, because I figured it prevented them from doing the x-ray and then charging me more for sneaky fees that they slip in.
BUT to my surprise, all they did was give me a referral to Desert Radiology!!!!! I could've gotten a referral to DR from my doctor, and I know my insurance definitely would have covered it because I go to DR frequently for other x-rays and ultrasounds. However, I'm not one to complain to the receptionist because having been a receptionist before, I understand that you always get blamed for things that aren't your fault and you're just trying to do your job.
Annoyed, I followed their instructions and went to the DR location on Cathedral Rock, about 4 minutes away from the Vaccine Center. When I got there, I was told that it was going to be at least a 2 hour wait and they do NOT make appointments for X-rays. I ended up calling another location that was 20 minutes away and they told me it was only a 30 minute wait there, so I headed over and got the x-ray done.
What I thought was going to be a convenient and easy experience ended up being a waste of time, gas, and money. Do yourself a favor and ask your primary physician where you should go to have a test done instead of just googling like I did!!!
