| - I was shopping and did not have time to head to my regular place for a manicure, so popped into Trade Secrets yesterday.
What a mistake, I should of turned around when I saw the set up, but didn't. I was asked to pay first - sometimes that happens so no big deal, better than getting a freshly polished nail smudged trying to get to your wallet.
The table was odd, not a regular manicure station. My chair was so high my feet didn't touch the ground. The area was kind of shoved into the coat closet. I guess they thought the could do manicure's as a side part of the business.
I sat down and this women just started right in, took off my old polish, and asked what color I wanted, I proceed to tell her I brought my own. She didn't like that I was using another dark color, and I don't know why it mattered to her. She talked non-stop throughout the manicure about nothing, and it was really annoying and I didn't talk at all.
She filed the nails okay, but I did have to ask here to fix two nails that were crooked, she cleaned up my cuticles then she asked me to wash my hands, I look around for a sink and didn't see one, she said oh right here - IN THE HAIR WASHING BASIN !! oh my, and the soap she put on my palm was SHAMPOO !!!!!!!!!!
Then I sat back down and she started to the polish, no hand massage or anything (that is the best part - well for me it is at least), she had polish everywhere ! Usually they can clean it up with either a very small brush with polish remover or cotton on the end of an orange stick....no not this wonder women.... she used a wooden waxing stick with remover and made it worse at the ends of my nails and finger tips. Then as she was done I realized why she was in a rush, she was getting her hair done by another employee and had to rush over the the washing station !
As I sat and waited for my nails to to dry because they had no fans or drying machine, I watched at least 6 people getting their eyebrow threaded by other employees (can't call them estitician cause I really doubt they were). Soon as my nails were dry, I was out of there.
Looking at them this morning, the nails that actually are missing polish near the cuticle and on the sides......bad job - don't think I will go back.
