This was the worst, most disappointing hotel stay I have had in 2015. Though I may have seen worse rooms, they were not so expensive. With Tropicana's "free" parking being covered by a $30 "resort" fee, I felt the room was nothing out of the ordinary. It did not feel as though the substandard room was worth the $88 I paid for a run of the mill weeknight.
The Tropicana calls themselves a new 4 star resort but nobody impartial would have confused them for either new or high quality. The casino floor was extremely smoky, which was our first complaint. The front desk person stated that with the "air filters" we should hardly notice any smoke. However, the smells were inundating, and permeated the walkways including the restaurants which adorned them. The rooms felt dingy. The windows had no curtains, only blinds to partially obstruct the neon skyline. The casino itself was miniature for Vegas. Will not be staying again.
