  • I just moved from Charlotte, NC to Lake Mary, FL and I'm so sad to not have the most AMAZING Jazzercise class ever anymore. First, let me say that I had preconceived notions, like many others, about what "Jazzercise" really was. I had heard that it was a wimpy workout for senior citizens. I decided to do a story on Jazzercise for WBTV, and I went out to visit Allegra and the other instructors. I was immediately SHOCKED at how fun, young, and DIFFICULT the classes were. Your heart rate climbs, but at a safe level, so that it's good for people of ALL ages. I had so much fun watching everyone, that I decided to return for a workout of my own. I had an ABSOLUTE blast my first day. In fact, it was so fun, and such a great workout, that I cancelled my gym membership to the YMCA and started just attending Jazzercise. Each class is complete with cardio and strength training, but it is done in a non competitive, fun, social way. The instructors are bubbly, talkative, and great at getting you pumped up to move. The music is so infectious that it's hard to not break it down to the beat. If you have problems with any joints or moves, there are always modifications. For people of ALL ages that are considering this, I would say DROP BY and take a class. You will become a Jazzercise junkie in no time.
