Let me start by saying I love dufflet cakes.
This is my first time at this location. I needed a quick go to cake for a birthday so my first thought was Dufflets. I decided to skip the grocery store and go to the real deal just because I've had experience where they looked good but tasted stale.
Anyways, I walked in on a Thursday afternoon, the store was not busy and the attendee greeted me. I told her I was looking for a cake that serves 8-10 people. The selection they had was quite slim...I assumed it could be it was the afternoon.
I had a cake flavour in mind, chocolate raspberry...or lemon, the birthday boys favourite. There was no tags on any of the cakes so the sweet attendee had to name each one I had pointed at. I only did this because I was the only customer at the store, and there wasn't many options to choose from since they didn;t have either.
I settled with a tiramisu (still good, but obviously not my first, second or third choice). It was also a surprise that they charge an additional $5 just to write Happy Birthday on the cake for you. Most cake places do it for free with the purchase of a cake...and it wasn't a small cake or cupcake I was buying. That was my only pet peeve and the cake tags...please Dufflets please mark your cakes.
