  • Work smarter not harder! It highly depends on which class one attends. I have had such a great time taking Trish's or Elaine's class, but can't say much about other instructors. Though I got a pretty good deal for a Christmas special, it's hard to get myself to go as much as I should. Also, I do live farther away than convenient, but one of my jobs is down the street. The class: CB has lights, video features, loud music, and nice bikes. Instructors lead participants through drills, sprints, endurance rides, and so on. Each instructor brings his/her own style, though. I have taken many of the classes here. I did not enjoy either of the men who taught (boring classes with very little motivation) but like Elaine and Trish. During the class, you can see the stats on the computer on your bike. If competitive, you can include your name on the stats board so you can see (and everyone else!) After class, an email with all stats is sent to you. Like other CB locations (I have been to one in North Carolina and used to go to the one in Scottsdale), there are theme rides, fundraisers for charities, contests, specials and so on. The theme rides can be fun. I notice this location very rarely uses videos, though the other two did. What I do like about this Cycle Bar, they do have some social media presence but not annoying social media. It's enough but not too much. Some fitness centers have over the top annoying social media posts. The staff: CycleBar is a chain within a major corporation. Each CB is owned by someone, or the person owns a couple/several. I have only seen the owner a few times at this one, though I see the Scottsdale owner all the time at that location. The current manager is very friendly, and all the employees seem nice. Some instructors walk around introducing themselves. Trish is incredibly friendly and makes sure every person feels welcome. She remembers people when they return. Other instructors walk into the room and just start teaching, barely noting any other person in the room. Location: Near some restaurants in a strip mall area, then near the Whole Foods in Chandler, which is great. Amenities: The showers are OK, though one of them runs super hot, so beware! I feel like they are clean. Sometimes the soap is out. The bathrooms need to find a new way to dispense soap; they have those bubble looking ones where you press your hand against it, and soap should come out. It does not. The water machine has always ran warm. This was even the case when I came last summer during the soft opening. However, it's good filtered water. Free water bottles if you forget yours. Parking: There is a small lot nearby, and if in the early AM, never busy.
