  • Located within the foodcourt of the New Kennedy Square plaza next to the very small performance stage is a mini shop run by 2-3 employees that sells a very popular snack that originated from Hong Kong known as the Hong Kong egg waffle. They offer a variety of different waffles, which they call woofles, along with soft serve ice cream and various other menu items. Each combination can vary in taste. You can order just the waffle, just the soft serve ice cream, or both of them together. The soft serve ice cream is not very sweet and very creamy and smooth. They usually offer vanilla and matcha flavours and a twist of the two. As for the waffles which are freshly made are always warm and crispy when served. I've tried their original, lap cheong n' seaweed, and cookies n'cream waffles, some on their own while others with ice cream. Personally, the lap cheong n' seaweed waffle tastes better on its own without ice cream as it has a hint of saltiness to it. Not to say salty and sweet isn't a bad combination like McDonald's fries and their soft serve, but that's just me. The original waffles will go with any soft serve flavour or on its own. As for the cookies n' cream waffle which tends to be slightly sweet, would probably go better with just the vanilla ice cream or on its own. Wait times will vary depending on how busy the shop is as they make their waffles when they are ordered. I would say on a good day with no line, 5-10 minutes would be normal. Parking isn't usually a problem for the mall section of the plaza, but tends to get quite busy during lunch time where most of the restaurants are located. As for the price of this snack that can range anywhere from $3.50 to $12 can be seen as pricey for some and reasonable for others. Anyone can make these waffles if they had the machine, but considering how lazy the world is, there will always be people like me who would rather just go out and buy the snack without having to make it themselves. Unless you're eating this snack everyday, the pricing is fairly reasonable to me.
