| - Ours was a very mixed experience.
My brother owns a timeshare here, and he and his wife invited us to stay with them in one of the penthouses.
The bad news: The internet connections are very spotty. In our room, we could barely stay connected to get email. Forget streaming anything or watching any Facebook or YouTube videos. We were told that when the internet was put in a long time ago, they set it up for laptops, and that tablets have too small an antenna to get good service. That didn't help the four of us, who only brought tablets.
The deferred maintenance was a real problem. Two outlets in the kitchen didn't work; the light outside on our balcony buzzed and needed changing. When we called it in, the ballast still wasn't changed after two days. The shower was a very strange design in the penthouse (apparently not in the other rooms.) In our room, it was open, w/o a shower curtain, and kept getting water all over the bathroom. The holes in the shower head were full of calcification, so the water pressure was a problem.
The staff in the lounge didn't seem happy to be there - one complained that they weren't paid much and only got a 20% discount on the food, so they hadn't tried any of it, and couldn't make recommendations. Another served food to the table while on her cell phone.
We stayed there a week. When they came in to clean, they didn't clean the bathroom at all until someone came in to check how the cleaning crew was. One of the burners on the stove didn't work, and we weren't provided with a full set of utensils until we called and asked.
The good news: The view was stunning! The place was spacious in the penthouse, with a jacuzzi on the balcony and in both bathrooms. The entire customer service staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and very apologetic when we complained or requested something that should have been done better. Most of the time, when we requested something from housekeeping (more dish soap, more hangers, more towels, more blankets, etc.) we would receive a call a while later to make sure we got what we wanted. A very nice touch!
The food was pretty good for bar food. When we told them about "the bad news", above, the front desk manager comped us a free meal there. After our rooms were cleaned, the housekeeping manager came over to check to see if things were done right. When we pointed out that they weren't, they apologized and immediately sent someone over to do it right. We liked the full kitchen; the garbage disposal worked well, as did the appliances, except for the one burner.
The beds were VERY comfortable! One of the highlights.
This resort is a little off the beaten path - both good and bad news. Not as much traffic, but hard to get a cab sometimes. No Uber or Lift in Nevada right now.
Overall a pleasant exoerience, but they could do so much better with better maintenance, better cleaning, better internet, and checking the rooms better between visitors to make sure everything is operating properly, and all the components are there.
