A gem in North Phoenix. Great trails, never crowded, and cheap ($6) to enter. As soon as you park and get moving, you feel like you're in nature. Do not hike without a water bottle (safety first, people). I second the recommendation a fellow Yelper, Merichelle V., made about the Overton Trail -- not too long, but absolutely stunning views. I've hiked here many times, and never been disappointed -- I did have a close encounter with a rattlesnake once, but any hiker out in southern AZ should be prepared for that kind of thing.
