I have been to IKEA stores in 3 different states and also in Europe. Obviously everything you buy is set by corporate so that is standard throughout every store. This review is based on this particular store.
We visited Ikea on a rainy weekend afternoon. Clearly thousands of people had the same idea. That's great. Good for Ikea...business is great. Unfortunately with how busy this location has become, there are several downfalls.
1: There are only 2 restrooms (one on the ground floor between the entrance and check out area and one up near the food court.) As you know Ikea is a labyrinth. So if you find yourself in need of the facilities near the rear of the store on either level you have a huge trek back to find one of their locations. Secondly, the doors and toilet seats are so worn out you would think you were in a sketchy gas station (I included a pic). Please upkeep your facilities.
2: They are so busy on the weekends that you have to wait and/or hunt down someone to help you in the sales departments upstairs for cabinet/kitchen orders.
3: The check out lines. While they have plenty of checkout lines, not all were open during the busiest sales time. Each line open was at least a dozen customers long.
4: Exterior loading. For some reason they decided to put a curb the whole length of the building with steel posts lining the walkway. This means that there is really only one ramp near the entrance/exit for your cart. The line of cars waiting to load items causes a huge congestion. There should be several ramps along that outdoor corridor to make it easier for loading. Also, there was not a single attendant outside to help customers.
All in all, a poor exterior layout and heavy wear and tear in the restroom facilities.
