| - This place has really gone downhill since it opened. And when I say "downhill", I'm referring to them charging a $10 cover to get in. The last time I actually went to Warren's, which was about 2 years ago, they were only charging a $5 cover, which still bothered me, considering we were ordering dinner. I could see charging a cover to people who just come for drinks and music, but charging people an entrance fee when they're paying for dinner too? That's just tacky.
Why, might you ask, haven't I been there in so long? The only reason I really went to Warren's before is because I was dating someone who lives in Gilbert. Since that ended, so did my time at Warren's. I mean, really, unless you live out that way, it's waaaaaay too far to go and really have a good time. I could go and drink water, because if I go out there and drink, I'll probably get a DUI on my long drive home.
Like other reviewers, I had the same bad experience with food and service. Both get TWO THUMBS DOWN from me. The food is overpriced and overly mediocre. The service is even worse, which says a lot.
The only saving grace for Warren's is the band. They are really good! Although, I have to agree with other reviewers that having the word "Jazz" in title of the restaurant is misleading, because the band only plays R&B cover music. So if you're looking for real live jazz, this ain't the place.
I commend the owners for trying to bring a good live music venue to the Valley, but the location, bad food, high prices and cover charge will prevent me from going out of my to drive all the way out there.
