| - Given the list of oral surgeons my insurance covers, I Research many oral surgeons and chose NV oral surgery due to their high reviews, quick to get an appointment, and the doctors schooling and experience. I specifically chose Dr. Johnson from the group because of his profile on the website. The initial consult when meeting with Dr. Johnson quick and brief, less than 5 mins. He was pleasant and professional, lacking the genuine and personal vibe. The day of my extraction (4 wisdom teeth removal)- family in a room with a couch and tv and wifi. Staff seemed busy, a very "in and out with patients" & "next, next, next" vibe. The process starts with a painless IV, I see Dr.Johnson walk in and bam! I'm out. Next thing I know, I'm awake, with only the assistant, no Dr., telling me everything went well, time to go home. Recovery consists of pain and pain meds with a dark bruise on my left check. Moving on to my follow up visit a week later- again, quick and brief less than 5 mins visit with Dr.Johnson dismissing my questions and concerns- first with body language standing crossing arms by the door and example "why am I still bruised on one side?" Answer-why do some people bleed more? It just happens." Preferred answer would be "some people just bleed more than others, give it some time and it should continue to heal" - all in communication and bedside manner. Again, he is pleasant polite but not genuine nor does he give off a caring vibe. Today is 2.5 weeks since extractions- still have the bruise on my left cheek :( I think he was rough with the extraction. I would Recommend this group but not this oral surgeon :(
Update: I do want to add staff was always courteous and the billing/insurance person is helpful, pleasant, and follows through with my concerns. I do appreciate that.
