  • STEER CLEAR! What you are told when you deal with a leasing agent, and what you are told when you LEAVE, are two different things, by far. OVATION PROPERTY MANAGEMENT just plain 'ole STINKS. They are similar to the federal government. The people who do an absurdly lousy job GET PROMOTED, instead of FIRED. The rents go up by 10% when you renew, regardless of what the apts are listed for at the time of renewal. THAT is what was put on my "walk-through" sheet when I also stated that the tenant upstairs was completely inconsiderate, and her pet had major problems which caused us much inconvenience. The reasons for our departure were: 1) rental increase, 2) excessive noise from the dog upstairs who barked all night while the owner was at work AND the dog across from our apt who barked during the day when that owner was at work, AND 3) the noise and filth from Spring Mountain Road traffic and dirt from the trucks that went up and down all day. Did Ovation put down all three (3) reasons? NOOOOOOOOO. The poor Manager of San Croix, an alleged professional, said I was yelling at her when we had our final walk-through. REALLY? I would think a manager would have some compassion for tenants FORCED TO MOVE, but she did not. SHE SEEMS TO FORGET HOW SHE YELLED AT ME fifteen (15) months ago when I inquired about the first 10% increase. Her response was: "Ovation is NOT a non-profit agency" and the increase could be justified. She failed to explain HOW. The general concensus of her demeanor was POOR and she did not care one iota. The maintenance director there did our final walk-through. He said our apartment looked fine, except for eleven (11) blind slats that had to be replaced @ $1.00 each = $11.00 total. Now they are keeping my cleaning fee of $300, my deposit of $500, my gate key for $35.00 and an additional balance. They do not have to care since they have a legal staff that will put you in collections whether you deserve it or not. Go to www.apartmentratings.com to see further comments. It is interesting to say the least. Good luck if you decide to rent from Ovation Property Management, and they do have many locations in the Las Vegas area. This is in the top ten mistakes that I have made in my lifetime. Ickkkkkkkk.
