Having grown up with Publix I thought I knew what to expect when they came to the area. They were always the big dog, so to speak, and no other grocery store compared in quality, cleanliness or service.
The Cornelius Publix is nothing special. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice (new) store but there are too many other grocery stores in the area that have just as much or more to offer, specifically the one across the street. I find the layout very choppy, especially when you enter the store. I missed the deli entirely my first visit because I didn't realize it was off to the left. For the most part the prices are much higher than other stores with the exception of what's in the weekly ad. I have yet to buy any meat there because even the sale prices are ridiculous.
If it weren't for their customer service, I doubt I would make the special trip to this store. They do have a few items I haven't seen at any other store, but the overall pleasantness of everyone is what makes me come back. I can't think of another grocery chain around here where I've seen management bagging groceries or working in the aisles like they do here. And they don't seem to mind it! LOL
