| - Monte Carlo has officially made their conversion to Park MGM, I have recently stayed here and wish to outline my experience.
Check in: A little nightmarish- the check in kiosks didn't operate properly ("Reservation not found") I entered my name, my confirmation number, everything it asked for. I finally had to ask why since i booked direct couldn't it find my reservation to which i was quickly asked if i had entered my information correctly. Um, YES i did thats why i called you to help me- they couldn't get it to work either so they had to manually check me in.
Room: After getting off the elevator, i was in the dark creepy looking hotel hallway..My room was unique but very tiny so i upgraded to a Nighthawk suite. After having to go back downstairs because my key to the new room didnt work (and was ignored in the lobby having to ask someone to help), I entered the Nighthawk Suite and found that it was pretty nice and "homey" looking, The bathroom was spacious, and it had to be one of the most comfortable beds i've slept on in awhile.
Pool: They remodeled the pool area and now instead of the wave pool and lazy rivers, it's the same boring elongated lifeless rectangle that everyone else has. No waterfalls, waterscapes or unique shapes and islands, just blah.
They have new restaurants and a huge new sports bar and a new casino bar. They spent millions on the re branding but something about the whole property now screams creepy haunted mansion. I miss the Monte Carlo already. Maybe i have the wrong impression of what they were trying to do here....BUT lets be clear, I did not dislike my stay nor was anything about the room faulty or bad. Don't think you should avoid the hotel or have to think twice if you were thinking of trying it -the rooms are stylish and new! .....it was just way different than i had imagined it to be and the staff needs work.......I'd for sure come back for the comfy bed, but that may be it in my case.
